My Ice Cream – A Secret Poem (No 35)

My granddad thought it was funny

To lick the ice cream in my hand.

I didn’t realise his head was low

When I reached to fix my headband.

A blob of cold wet ice cream

Was smeared about his face.

A vanilla patch with strawberry sauce

Now dripping all over the place.

He told me off – As if it was me!

That ...

Rainbows (Secret poem no 34)

Today I saw a rainbow

Which means luck comes my way.

It’s pretty arch was framing

The clouds all dull and grey.

The colours merged together

To make a bright light shine

Onto my sulking brother

Who took the sweets - They were mine!

I only pulled his hair once,

And poked ...

The Passion of Dance – A secret poem (No 30)

A true love relationship is with the beat and expression.

Dance has been in my life for years

Through depression, love, loss and aggression.

It takes me away to another world where anything is possible.

It forms my body to move in ways, when I dance I am unstoppable.

The souls surround the music, which speaks to me with ease.

A transformation happens, my reality now flees

I’m caught up in the moment, A rush; adrenalin flows.

I dance with my heart and soul for hours… nobody sees ....

If Only - A Secret Poem (No 23)

Why can't I be a real princess?
I am very nice with a lovely dress.
I say my thank you's and eat my fruit,
I will even kiss a disgusting newt.

Why can't I be a real princess?
My room is tidy; never a mess.
I can curtesy well and wear a crown,
Even when I'm told off; I never frown.

My dad calls me princess, but I just wince.
We don't live in a castle and I've no prince.....

The Tree Man - A Secret Poem (No. 13)

There was a road through the woods, but Tree Man had its way.

Destroying mankind’s metal creations as they journeyed; they were his pray.

Twisted roads existed once to views across the lands.

But Tree Man with his power, engulfed the tarmac bands.

I am a lucky survivor who saw this figure one day.

It seemed so none existent, as you see to the right in grey.

Stooped to the left of the road, my side-glance saw it pounce.

I swerved my car, which stuck in the brook and ran to hide with a bounce.

As the ground rumbled and groaned, with roots reaching up high.

Nature was at war with me disregarding my terrified cry.

Branches like arms crushed my car, the brook engulfing...

Crank - A Secret Poem (No. 12)

I pass everyday this interesting place.

It's here scarecrow partying is great to embrace.

A red cat for a haunting.

A white rabbit a myth?

Farmers working their fields,

Spreading muck – What a whiff!

Although not a resident, I love walking here.

Scenery and atmosphere; pub’s great for beer.

Minion stacks appear… then go.

Alder Lane Mission develops ...

Imagination Takes Flight - Secret Poem (No. 10)

A grey historic animal stands proud near the lake.

It reminds me of pterosaurs watching prey to take.

It swoops the lake in magnificent glory.

A glimpse of the past; from a Jurassic story.

I watch as it circles its flight with a sweep.

The lake has its dinner; it sees down to the deep.

A flap of the wings gives it .....
